Since version 4.3, Recast Application Workspace introduced the ability for end users to send diagnostic logs to IT administrators. This has proven to be an extremely useful feature in troubleshooting and support scenarios. However, from an IT administrator’s perspective, it would be highly beneficial to also have the capability to collect diagnostic logs remotely, in the background, without requiring any user interaction.
Proposed Enhancement:
Introduce a remote diagnostic log collection feature that allows administrators to gather log files directly from managed endpoints. This could be implemented as a simple button labeled “Collect Diagnostic Reports” under:
Devices -> <device name> -> Diagnostic Reports
This functionality would significantly streamline the incident management process by:
Reducing dependency on end-user actions.
Accelerating diagnosis and resolution times.
Improving support efficiency, especially for unattended or remote devices.
Value to Administrators:
Enables proactive troubleshooting.
Reduces mean time to resolution (MTTR) for support tickets.
