When testing application installs, it's useful to see the revision to tell if the machine I'm testing against has received the newest version of the policy. Example use case is if I install an application via Remote Software Center, the application fails, I make a change to the application in ConfigMgr and perform a machine policy update on the machine. There's no way to tell if the machine received the new version unless I also update one of the other fields that show in Remote Software Center (name, description, publisher, version).
