Dry Run / Simulation Mode for Filters and Context Evaluation

Is it possible to introduce a “dry run” or simulation feature within Application Workspace that allows administrators to evaluate how filters and contexts are applied to a specific user or machine?

The goal of this feature would be to simulate the end result of all configured filters and conditions, providing visibility into what applications, configurations, or actions would be delivered to the selected endpoint.

For example:

• A context is configured with a filter based on an IP range

• The user is part of a specific user collection

• Additional filters and conditions are applied (e.g., device type, location, group membership)

In complex environments with multiple overlapping filters, it can be difficult to determine which conditions are evaluated, which ones are matched, and how they influence the final outcome.

A simulation mode would:

• Show which filters are evaluated during processing

• Indicate which filters are matched (“hit”) and which are not

• Provide a clear overview of the resulting application set or configuration for the user/device

This would significantly improve troubleshooting, validation, and overall transparency when working with contexts and filters in Workspace.
