User Impersonation Feature
As an administrator, I never have the same packages, entitlements, or catalog view as the end user. Because of that, it is difficult to troubleshoot what the user actually sees in Application Workspace.
We would like the ability to impersonate a user and view that user’s Workspace and Catalog in their real context.
This would help a lot when troubleshooting missing apps, entitlement issues, and filtering, but also when creating guides and taking screenshots for end users. To make good documentation, we need to see the same view as the user.
I like this idea. Perhaps Recast can look into Ivanti Workspace Control, specifically the diagnostic feature, so we can “replicate” the user session. This would allow us to see which packages are assigned, what events occur, and so on, all in one place.
A Workspace Simulation option could also be very useful. By selecting a device, a user, and additional context, we could immediately see which context the user would fall into and what the resulting impact would be.
