Application Catalog deployments would be more flexible if administrators could select existing MECM/SCCM Global Conditions as part of the deployment workflow.
Today, administrators often need separate collections and deployments to handle scenarios such as application upgrades versus new installations. Allowing Global Conditions to be used directly within Application Catalog would simplify deployment management and reduce collection sprawl.
Example Use Case:
Deploy an application as Required when an older version is installed.
Deploy the same application as Available when the application is not installed.
Target deployments based on existing Global Conditions for OS version, hardware, registry values, or installed software.
Benefits:
Reduce the number of collections required.
Simplify application lifecycle management.
Improve upgrade and replacement scenarios.
Leverage existing MECM Global Conditions.
Enable smarter, more dynamic application deployments.
Reduce administrative overhead.
This enhancement would allow organizations to use existing Configuration Manager logic more effectively while making Application Catalog deployments more powerful and easier to manage.
